Midnighthowl silently padded across the clearing of the Fern hollow, her paws gracefully slipping noiselessly in every step they took. And her breath escaped her lungs in a sigh that stirred a starling in it's wake. The day was pleasant, with blue skies and pallid clouds that rolled by slowly as the hours processed. Even the birds were singing, though their songs could easily be filled with words of loss and misery. How had any of this happened? She was a roaming rogue, known for her cruelty and isolation. Now she was a deputy of a Clan, and her old equality was heightened. The branches shifted under the wind, and made the illusion of switching light of the sun over her uncanny black coat. 'How could I possibly stay in EmberClan. I have a two track mind, and after what happened with Birdsong...' She grumbled silently. Her pace slowed to a ground stop. 'Don't be so egotistic, Midnight. You have to do whats best for both of us, and the Clan needs you now, especially if anything was to happen again. Stay to it.' It answered back, in the same, smooth velvetic tone that it used every time it reminded the she-cat of its existence. It was the voice of her conscience or the 'voice inside her head'; which she often referred it to as. She liked to believe that it was wrong, but as usual the feeling in her gut was a sign that if she tried to disagree she would get a rude awakening and be told wrong. Her ocher eyes blazed in annoyance. 'Yes, mother.' Her own dismal sarcasm amusing her to no end. It didn't reply back.
Originally she had planned for a training session, but she wasn't so sure now. She would have liked some time alone, to think and to relocate her mental stability which was quickly crumbling down. It may have been a while since then, but it felt like yesterday still. And the old pain came back every once in a while to haunt her memories...

Electricpaw just layed in the apprentices den his eyes glaring into space his tail twitching in silent annoyance at something. The young toms ears flattened to his skull he just seemed cranky today always having the shadow of his father always at some point loomed over his thoughts. Him being the only one left puts a lot of pressure on him, everyone must expect him to be a lot like the great leader. He already had the looks but he couldnt be an exact replica he was him. Shifting his sholdor blades his got up to his paws he wouldnt let that fact rain on his life. Jumping to his paws he made his way out of the den, the suns touch turning his dark red pelt ablaze as he looked for something to do. Maybe he could get some hunting done that would give him something productive to do, while feeding his clan mates. Padding over to the entrence he walked out into the territory lifting his muzzle to taste the air for any prey. The scent of mouse came over his glades and in the corner of his eyes was a plump brown shape. Geting instantly to his paws he waited a moment and a heart beat later pounced catching the mouse in his paws. His tounge swiped over his lips as hi bite down on its neck killing it instantly. Picking up the limp body he continued walking looking for a good place to store his prey when another familiar scent came over him. Looking up he noticed the black shape of Midnighthowl deputy and his mentor. She didnt seem to want to be disturbed seting the prey down his cleared his throat. "Greetings Midnighthowl, do you want to be alone?" he asked, if she wanted to be alone he would just go back to hunting.

Paws brushed soundlessly across the damp, soft ground, the light breeze whisping through his long, thick pelt as two bright blue orbs shone through the semi-darkness. Foxstar lifted his head, maw parted slightly to allow the scents of the rainforest to fill his lung as the leader let out a content sigh, closing his eyes as the gentle, distant fall of water echoed through his ears, accompanied by the gentle call of a rosella, drifting through the thick canopy. Opening his eyes, the young ginger tom let his gaze drift dow to his paws as he lifted a paw, as if trying to decide which direction to take, which way to move, but it was only that he was thinking of other things. Ever since Moonkit had died and Wolf had headed off to explore the forest of silence, he felt like there was no one, that not even starclan were looking down on him anymore. But of course, he couldn't hold that thought for long. 'Of course Featherleaf, Mother and Lionrose are looking down on me and up there, somewhere, so would Flashfire and Flightwind,' he thought as another sigh drifted from his jaws. With his tail flicking from side to side as he turned around, Foxstar's ears pricked up as the gentle, distant mew of his son drifted through the trees. "Greetings Midnighthowl, do you want to be alone?" Shaking his head, a faint smile drifted across his jaws as he turned in the direction of Electricpaw's voice. 'So that's where she dissapeared to,' he thought silently as he turned and begun, but realised they weren't too far away. Breaking through the last line of ferns, Foxstar's blue gaze searched the small break in the thick undergrowth and soon he spotted the familiar deep ginger coat of Electricpaw and the jet black pelt of Midnighthowl. 'Hope I'm not disturbing anything,' Foxstar rasped as he padded out from the ferns boldly, head raised high and a cheerful purr in his voice.

Electricpaw was pretty sure she did and just dipped his head in a curt nod. Leaning down his muzzle to pick up his prey a sound of moving ferns caught his attention. His fur fluffed up in defense at a voice, he wiped around to see his father Foxstar. Leting out a sigh he sat down smoothing out his ruffled pelt slightly embarressed. His bright blue optics snuck a glance at Foxstar he was in a good mood like usual. Geting to his paws he shook his head "No your not disturbing me, i think i will go hunt some more." he replied as he turned starting to go deeper into the territory. Stoping he turned his head back to his prey "You can have that if you want." he mewed diping his head before making his way around Midnighthowl. His dark ginger fur faint in the light shade of the trees as his ears twitched. He didnt want his father to think he was lazy he wanted to be a son that he would be proud of even if it ment training harder than all the other apprentices. His sholdors shifted under his pelt his muscles rippling benieth it. A few screetching calls of birds could be heard over head as the tom looked around for them. His bright eyes narrowed as one was flying by his hind muscles bunched ready to spring for it.
