A grey pelt blended in with the shadows around as the young apprentice weaved through the trees, his paws not making a sound as he skimmed along ever so lightly, not disturbing even a leaf that may have fallen below his paw. There wasn't even the usual flash of his powerful copper eyes as he moved, getting faster and faster as he went from a quick walk to full pelt. With his eyes closed tight he relyed on pure luck to make his way around, even if his eyes were open he wouldn't have been able to see through the tears that streamed from his eyes, there was a loud crack and everything came to a stop..
Stonepaw jolted awake, his copper eyes wide open as he whipped his head around taking in where he was, as he did slow he leant to the side and slowly began slipping, as so he remembered he was in a tree and had just taken a nap but even so it wasnt quick enough for him to stop himself from falling. His paws scrabbled on the branch as he unsheathed his claws to grab a hold of the thin brach that he had fallen asleep on. Just as his back legs began dangling in mid air his front claws sunk deep into the branch stopping the fall that he had come so close to having.
Flexing his young muscles he began to pull his body up back onto the branch, giving a loud groan of effort as he did so. 'Come on!' he thought to himself as he clawed his way up ever so slowly, with a final grunt of effort he heaved himself back up onto the branch, almost going too far as he began to slip forward and over, stablizing himself by digging his back claws well into the branch as well. 'Haha! No tree is gonna get the better of me!' he yowled out, just as he did so, there was a loud crack and rattling of leaves as the branch gave way under his weight and sent him falling down to the ground below.
Getting up, the world whizzled around him, his paw stung ever so slightly as he placed it down, trying to get his balance again, his mind was buzzing at the wonder of how the tree could support him sleeping but at one extra movement it gave way. Cursing the tree under his breath he sat down and began grooming his fur which was all ruffled from the sudden drop. It was then he realised how alone he was out here in the woodland, he hadnt thought to bring anyone else out here with him, and now that he was here he realised how alone he was, he shivered at the thought of his position at the moment, he never liked being alone

'Heh, you need to balance your weight evenly Stonepaw, otherwise branches will give way like that.' From his place in the shadows, a huge figure stepped forward slightly before lying down, his paws tucked under his body as his tail flicked slightly from side to side, deep amber eyes glowing through the darkness as a small smirk played on his lips, gleaming white jaws clear as his claws, which were slightly unsheathed and catching the sunlight. 'As you would have just found out, it's not the wisest thing to make a racket in a tree.' The tom shifted his weight as he once again stood up with a deep groan, jet black fur glinting slightly as he stalked forward, muscles flexing under his thick coat as his ear twitched slightly. Midnightfang glided soundlessly up to his apprentice, giving a small snort as he looked down at the tom. 'But then, only BrookClan and EmberClan cats climb trees,' he meowed, a tint of annoyance in his voice as he stared down at Stonepaw.

The young tom nearly jumped at the sight of his mentor's sudden appearance, his grey fur becoming all ruffled again, the large tom had always managed to scare him, even when he was on his highest of guards. 'Midnightfang!' he stammered, still dizzy from falling out of the tree. The stare that the black warrior gave him made him just wanna shrink down and hide behind his mother's paw, meeting the eyes of his mentor shakily he meowed rather quickly, 'I was just having a quick rest, I never meant anything bad, I was intending on doing a little hunting but I couldn't find you anywhere, I'm sorry..' he trailed off, the stare his mentor was giving him was making him regret being out here, he wasnt usually so submissive, Don't get down on yourself, your only just waking up! Looking at his paws, he just moved them around for a moment, giving a small sigh the tom raised his head again, his copper eyes met his mentor's searching for forgiveness

'I was just having a quick rest, I never meant anything bad, I was intending on doing a little hunting but I couldn't find you anywhere, I'm sorry..' The black tom stared down at his apprentice for a few moments before a deep, chuckling purr rippled from the back of his throat as he lifted a paw to bat Stonepaw over the head lightly, amber eyes softening. 'Cool it kit, I'm not upset with you, you've done nothing wrong, but you do need to be able to stand up for yourself better now that I think of it, would have been pretty embaressing if it wasn't me who came to find you,' Midnightfang mewed slyly, his amber orbs glowing with mischeif as he gave his black coat a brisk shake as small flecks of dust flew into the air, the sunlight catching the small grains and illuminating them as a dusty brown wave of colour washed over his pelt. Flexing his limbs slightly, he straightened himself before flicking his tail slightly. 'Well, do you want to train?' He asked impatiently, sparing a glance at the tom.

When the word 'train' hit his ears he immediately lightened up, his copper eyes shining with excitement, this is what he wanted to do, he actually wanted to do. 'Oh, yes please Midnightfang!' he meowed with excitement, his tail lashed side to side, he had completely forgotton about the experience he just had, he just wanted to train

Seeing the tom brighten up almost as soon as he brought up training, the black warriors gave a small chuckle. 'Oh, yes please Midnightfang!' Turning away from the stone-gray tom, Midnightfang gave a flick of his tail, amber eyes glowing brightly as he glanced back at the tom. 'Alright then, battle training, come on,' he mewed briefly before turning fully aqround and swiftly moving forward, strong limbs rippling with power as he slipped into the trees, becconing the tom to keep up with him.
Breaking through the trees, the huge black tom slipped silently down into the sandy hollow, paws sinking slightly into the thick sand as he glided across to the center of the clearing, looking up to the clear morning sky as he sat down, his eyes closing briefly as the tom let the scents of the woodlands and waterhole drift through his parted jaws. After a few heartbeats he turned so he was facing where he entered. 'How slow can that tom be?' he asked himself as Midnightfang wrapped his tail around his paws, eyes narrowed slightly as the bright sunlight warmed his coat.

As he found out battle training was what he was to do he lighted up even more and a short yowl escaped him jaws excitedly. Jumping up he stretched out again, his muscles still slightly stiff from the nap he had in the tree, his stone grey pelt once again rippling with his young muscles, after a moment he realised Midnightfang had already walked off, as he did so he put no halt into catching up with him again, his paws sending clouds of dust behind him as they scrabbled along the ground as he caught up with his mentor.
Slipping quite gracefully down after his mentor, the young male apprentice trotted with his tail high in the air quite happily. Giving a quick sigh he sat down lightly on the thick sand and looked up to his mentor, his copper eyes shining brightly, this is what he wanted to be doing
