Lizardclaw never fancied hunting alone, but boredom took him over and the thought of going out for a good hunt was tempting. The young black warrior made up his mind to go hunting at The Clay Slope, he enjoyed finding his prey in a burrow, it was easier then chasing and stalking and he had little confidence in his hunting skills- Neither dose my clan he thought glumly, but he didn't blame them. He could barely catch a sleeping potoroo. He dismissed his negative thoughts, he was hunting alone... there was no one to disappoint.
He parted his jaws wide and scanned the parameter for rabbit holes. He spotted one not too far off- he would bring back a rabbit for his clan today! He stalked forward, concentrating hard, feet barley touching the ground. He froze as he saw a rabbit bound into the burrow, eyes wide in terror. What could have scared it so badly? he wondered... it didn't matter. He didn't sense anything but rabbit. Recovering from the surprise, he continued his stalking, when he reaches the rabbit hole he dove deep in and stretched his head forward, teeth bared, hoping to find the rabbit's neck. Instead he received a thunk on the head. "Foxdung!" he spat dizzily, then dove back down and got a good grip on the neck, only to let go to let out a yelp of pain himself... something had his leg- he was being dragged out of the burrow! He sank is claws into dirt, gasping, trying to stay in the burrow where his throat and stomach where not available for the creature to strike at. It was no use, the creature was powerful and it dragged him right out of the burrow ferociously. "HELP!" he yowled franticly "HELP ME!". He turned to look at his attacker. He froze in horror.
The first thing he noticed was it's huge head with sharp, jagged yellow teeth. It was large- at least five times the size of himself. He could see it's rump and haunches at the end of it's long body where striped black, and it's tail was very long and thin. (Tasmanian Tiger, peeps) He had never in his life seen anything like this monster! Spiritclan save me! he begged his ancestors silently. He tried to struggle free, but this only made the creature shake him back and forth. He thought he might have torn his leg off if he didn't get help fast! "HELP! HELP!" he yowled, the pain was nauseating. He continued to call for help, trying his best to fight back clawing at the creature's face with his front claws, too terrified to remember anything he was taught about fighting...

He needs help! (doh! =3)

Jetpaw like to hunt. It was the only time of the day when he could get to be all by himself. He opened his mouth to take in the scents of the forest. There was a rabbit, a mouse, and a vole. Jetpaw chose the vole. He crouched down and kreeped toward it. The vole was under a tree root, making an unfinished home. So when Jetpaw got close enough, he hissed at it. Startled, the vole jumped out of the roots. Jetpaw leaped into the air and killed it with one swift bite.

As Jetpaw was padding back to the camp, vole in his jaws, he heard a cry for help, "Help!" and another moment later, "Help me!" Jetpaw dropped the vole and chased after the cry. He opened his mouth to take in scents. Everything was normal, except...Jetpaw opened his mouth again. It was unlike anything that he had every scented before. Jetpaw continued to run toward the sound, and the strange smell.
Once again, Jetpaw heard, "Help! Help!" Now he knew he was close. He sped through the forest, pushing past brambles, bushes, and ferns. Until he skiid to a stop and almost hit a giant cat. At least he though it was a cat. Jetpaw was wide-eyed with shock when he saw the black warrior, Lizardclaw, fighting against it. Jetpaw thought for three seconds and then jumped onto the the large cat's back and dug his claws into its shoulders. The giant cat shook him off and remained focused on Lizardclaw.
Jetpaw hit the ground but got back up. This time, he charged and slid under the giant cat, and began clawing its soft underbelly. This time the beast took notice. It grabbed Jetpaw by the leg with its jaws and flung him into the bushes. Jetpaw got back up again, but already exhausted. What is this thing? he thought before throwing himself back into the battle.

Lizardclaw was vaguely aware that an apprentice was approaching untill he joined the battle. As soon as the creature let go of his leg, he pulled away from it and leaped for it's neck. He caught the bottom of his neck and bit down as hard as he could, raising his frount paws to claw. The creature was only as aware of Lizardclaw as the apprentice, who lizardclaw now identified as Jetpaw. He seemed to be doing a good amount of damage.

The creature shook and tried to claw at the cats... he got a few blows in, of course, but nothing fatal as far as Lizardclaw could see. The creature staggered, spinned, and struck a last blow to the nearest cat before trembling to the ground, moaning. Soon he was dead.

Lizardclaw let go, took a deap breath, and turned to Jetpaw. His head was spinning, his sides where torn by the claws of the creature and he could have sworn his leg was ripped right off.
"Thanks... are you hurt?" he asked warily, looking Jetpaw up and down. [/center]

---
Damage: A claw marking down each side, back leg chewed and broken, but can be saved.

Jetpaw shook his head while looking at Lizardclaw's injuries. Then he looked up at Lizardclaw and lifted a paw. "Just on my paw and muzzle," he said to him quietly. He staggered a bit, everything had been a big blur. But now Jetpaw saw that the large cat-like creature was dead and that the cat in front of him was Lizardclaw.

Jetpaw looked at his injuries again. "I am fine, but you could use a checkup with Spiderwind," he managed to blurt out, his twisted jaw was hurting more than usual. "We should go back to the camp," Jetpaw suggested, and waited for Lizardclaw to reply.
